Flickr and greasemonkey

Getting exposure is one of the most important things for a beginning sports photographer! The best tool for getting critique and your photos simple and socially on the web is Flickr. Just uploading photos is not enough though. Adding your photos to groups, give them a geo location and discuss in the Flickr forums will help a lot. Gathering friends, and helping other will do even more success. Trough this way I’ve grown from only 5 visitors a day on my portfolio blog to more then 250. I gathered some cool scripts or your web browser to make life easy. This will only work with Firefox and greasemonkey installed!

Firefox
One of the better and faster internet browsers around. A lot better then Internet explorer! download at getfirefox.com The cool thing about Firefox is that it uses Add-ons to make it even more powerful. Surf around for add-ons here

Greasemonkey
Allows you to customize the way a webpage displays using small bits of JavaScript. This means that for example flickr will have extra buttons, bulk message systems or group submitters. Dont worry i’ll explain later! Get greasemonkey here

Scripts
I found some amazing scripts on Steeev’s site. (yes with 3 e’s). For example, one of my most used greasemonkey is the multi group sender. this let you make templates of favorite groups. and submitts your photo to multiple groups in just seconds. To find more great tools like this check steeevs site!
